Overview
Designing this space was both challenging and rewarding. The client desired a timeless aesthetic with a warm and spacious visual appeal.
We began by gathering references and creating detailed sketches in collaboration with the karigars and the client. To ensure a holistic understanding and arrive at the best design, we explored multiple permutations through 3D renderings.
We developed a refined two-tone “box within a box” concept that added a modern touch while preserving the timeless charm of each furniture piece. Each item—side tables, wardrobe, and bed—was framed within its own distinct box using carpentry. The outer frame of each was polished about 80% darker than the natural teak veneer, subtly highlighting the edges.
To maintain warmth, we used classic teak veneer throughout. To create openness, we converted dummy columns into functional shelves and added a large mirror to visually expand the space.
Trim lighting was integrated beneath the bed and shelves to enhance ambient mood, and the look was completed with thoughtfully curated art and lighting accents.
